Before we tell you about the awesome of our Get Lucky Dance on Wednesday, we must extend our congratulations to Adam Dau and Mary Frederickson for taking 1st place in the Red Hot Stomp Off fast dancing challenge at the 1st Saturday dance! Supersonic swing outs FTW!

We are excited to invite the Dig Jazz Band from New Haven to play at Shish Lounge this Wednesday at our Get Lucky Dance on February 13, 2013! In addition to sweet live music, we’ll be raffling off some great prizes including a massage/facial from Massage Envy, tickets to the Bushnell, and passes to HU’s I Hart Swing Weekend coming up in March! Arrive early with friends and family to partake in the 3-course dinner for a fixed price of $30. Shish will also be featuring a signature drink for this special evening! Diana started swing dancing in Honolulu, during the summer of 2005, after a most successful 30 minute east coast lesson. The rest of that summer was consumed with lindy hop, balboa, and charleston workshops until she was forced to return to RPI in Troy, NY that fall. A year later, she started up the swing dance club at RPI and kept bouncing back and forth between the Honolulu and Albany dance scenes until graduating in 2007. Diana currently dances and teaches in Connecticut, focusing on connection and maintaining that particular degree of silliness required of lindy hoppers. She also DJ's and currently heads Hartford Underground.
